He stated that investigations indicate that the deadly shooting was related to drug dealing activities, although investigations continue. According to López Salazar, five people participated in the planned shooting of 31 year old David N.

López Salazar said the group of five arrived at the Cancun shopping mall parkade in a white car to meet with the victim. Two of the five were talking with David “N” at the rear of the car when the victim removed an object from the trunk.

At that moment, all five surrounded the victim’s car and began shooting. In an attempt to flee, he tried to back out but was killed before he could escape. López Salazar said a total of 29 bullet holes from a 9mm caliber weapon were counted against the victim’s black vehicle.

The white car was later found abandoned in the city and seized by police. Authorities continue their search for those involved.
