Cancun, Q. R. — Nearly two dozen people were arrested during a building search in SM 44 of Cancun. The building was searched after an investigation into a fraudulent tourist call center lead police to the address.
In a statement, the State Attorney General reported 23 arrests from inside the building “which functioned as a “call center” for tourist services. The property in which the procedure was carried out was investigated for its possible use for retail drug sales.”
During the search, participating agents seized doses of substances similar to marijuana and methamphetamines as well as cell phones, bank cards, laptops and seven motorcycles.
As a result, it was established that the ground floor of the property functioned as a “call center” in which tourist trips and sporting events were offered, a business that served as a façade to carry out activities related to drug dealing.
