14 left with injuries after Cancun combi sideswiped

Cancun, Q.R. — A traffic accident in Cancun Saturday night left 14 people injured. Preliminary information from authorities reported that the accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. on Leona Vicario Avenue.

According to the traffic report, a Maya Caribe combi somersaulted when it reached the 74th Street intersection after being sideswiped by a private vehicle.

Police detail the arrival of four ambulances to treat the 14 injured, all of whom, were combi passengers. The headcount of 14 passengers in a public transport van is over capacity for the state’s current mobility restrictions due to the Coronavirus.

There were no reports on the driver of the SUV that hit the combi.
