Cancun, Q.R. — A total of 12 people have been taken into police custody for their alleged involvement in at least three Cancun murders. The State Attorney General’s Office says all 12 were arrested on outstanding warrants “for their probable participation in the crime of intentional homicide against three people, which occurred in two different events.”
One of the men identified only as Juan “C” alias “Apá”, is said to be the leader of a criminal gang that generates violence in the municipality.
According to the Attorney General, one of the murders took place on March 9 of this year in Superblock 235, and the homicide of two men on March 11 in Superblock 259. Both incidents took place in Cancun.
