Tulum, Q.R. — Municipal police are continuing their search for a vehicle that killed a young woman Monday. The body of a young woman was reported laying on the side of the federal highway after being hit.
The young woman was hit by a car that kept going in a fatal hit and run Monday morning. Motorists stopped to help the woman, who paramedics pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased woman has been identified as 22 year old Alejandra N, according to emergency responders.
The fatal hit and run happened near Cenote Casa Tortugas where local paramedics were requested.

It has been reported that she was crossing the highway on her way to work when she was struck.
The vehicle responsible is reported to be a Nissan March that was traveling south at the time of the accident.
National Guard Highways cordoned off the area to while awaiting for forensics to remove the body. Investigators collected fragments and noted drag marks and preliminary testimonies to locate those responsible.
