Tulum, Q.R. — A man died Saturday after being impaled by fence posts from a third story building fall in Tulum. Police and paramedics were called to Aldea Zama Saturday morning in response to reports of a man who fell from the third floor.

Emergency personel who responded to the call arrived to find a young male laying against the side of the building. During the fall, he hit a fence and was impaled by two pieces of sticks.
The accident occurred at the Bungalows Luxury Tulum complex (Tower B) near Itzamná Street. The victim’s friends called emergency services after reporting that the man had fallen at the rear of the building.
According to initial reports, when emergency responders arrived, the victim was unable to move due to the impalement. Rescuers worked to free him before rushing him to the IMSS Bienestar Hospital.
Despite the medical efforts, the young man died shortly after being admitted to hospital.

Preliminary accounts suggest the victim had been drinking alcohol and was sitting on a third-floor railing when he lost his balance and fell over. Authorities in Tulum are investigating the accident to determine exactly what happened and how the young man fell from the balcony.
