Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen worker was electrocuted Wednesday while on a construction site. The man was moving scaffolding when he accidently touched a set of overhead power lines.
The accident happened on the CADU real estate construction site off Chict Avenue and Alondra Street in Villas del Sol Wednesday afternoon.
The worker, who has not been identified, was handeling the metal scaffolding when a corner made contact with a high-voltage line above him.

A police unit from the Playa del Carmen Public Security Secretariat (SSC) arrived at the scene and requested an ambulance.
The construction worker was found severely burned and transferred to Playa del Carmen hospital by ambulance. The status of his condition is unknown.
Municipal Civil Protection arrived later to conduct an investigation and subsequent inspection of the site.
