Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a vehicle that hit a Cancun pedestrian is being sought after failing to stop Sunday. An older man was left to die after being struck Sunday night on the shoulder of Bonampak Avenue.
Paramedics were requested in SM 75 where the vehicle hit the man as he walked the shoulder of the avenue. Eye witnesses said he was tossed into the air and landed several meters away from where he was walking when he was struck.
Responding medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Due to the level of darkness, witnesses were only able to detail a white car as the vehicle being responsible.
City police are reviewing security cameras connected to the C5 to locate and identify the car and the responsible driver.
Witnesses said when the car hit the man, the driver kept going, fleeing the scene immediately after impact. The victim was left lying on the pavement. Police were also working to identify him and notify his family.
