Witnesses claim an argument as the cause of a three vehicle crash that left 10 injured

Cancun, Q.R. — An argument inside a car is being blamed for a three vehicle accident that sent 10 to hospital. On Monday afternoon, emergency services responded to motorists’ reports of the crash on Torcasita Avenue.

The accident happened at the avenue intersection with 62nd Street where a private car emerged from a side street and was struck by a public transport van that collided with a taxi.

A Teléfonos de México pole was hit and left damaged by one of the vehicles. A total of 10 people were injured. Five were assessed on-site by paramedics for minor bumps and bruises, however, five others required hospital transfer.

Witnesses alleged that one of the drivers was intoxicated and arguing with a female passenger at the time of the collision.

Cancun Transit officers took all three drivers in for questioning. Officials have not confirmed the witness allegations of an intoxicated driver or an argument that lead to the distraction that caused the accident.
