Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An armed attack outside a Playa del Carmen bar has left one man seriously injured. The shooting happened Thursday night outside La Santa bar on 125th Avenue with 13th Street South.
Municipal officers were sent to the scene after 9-1-1 received citizen reports of hearing gunfire. Eye witnesses said a motorcycle carrying two people were responsible for firing shots at the bar as the man walked out.
The man appeared to be the target of the shooting. He was hit three times and transferred to hospital.
Municipal police sectioned off the area to start an investigation into the shooting. They also launched a search for the two men on the motorcycle responsible for the shooting.
Playa del Carmen police have not announced any arrests. The injured man has not been identified. Police did not comment on a possible motive for the targeted attack.
