Tulum, Q.R. — A woman was killed Sunday night during a hit and run outside the town of Tulum. The accident was reported around 10:00 p.m. by passing motorists who were able to provide police with a description.
The now deceased woman, who is believed to be around 40, was killed when she was struck by an SUV that kept going. She was walking the shoulder of the highway when she was struck. She was found dead in highway vegetation.
Witnesses were able to provide police with details of the hit and run as well as of the SUV that hit the woman. The 2013 Suzuki that was allegedly responsible for the deadly hit and run was located in the subdivision of Aldea in Tulum.
Tulum police have not reported on any arrests. The State Attorney General’s Office is working on locating the driver.
