Two women found dead inside Playa del Carmen home

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two women were found dead Saturday morning in Playa del Carmen. The bodies were found inside a home on Mar Rojo Street in the Misión del Carmen neighborhood.

There are reports that neighbors called police around 3:00 a.m. after hearing, what they believed, was domestic violence. Police responding to the report of a domestic dispute arrived to the discovery of two dead women.

One woman was found shot in the head. The other appeared to have been suffocated.

According to available information, forensics arrived to remove the bodies, however, around 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, police were back at the home after a man, whose relation to the women is unknown, reported a crime scene.

The man arrived at the home and found the front door ajar. When he pushed it open, he saw blood on the floor and scattered belongings and made a report to emergency 9-1-1.

Municipal Police were back at the scene of the home late Saturday morning when, according to local reports, forensics arrived to process the scene.

Local authorities have not provided any comment on the double murder or their second appearance at the home. The identity of the women is unknown.
