Tulum, Q.R. — Two restaurants were shut in Tulum after authorities found them in breach of health protocols. Inspectors from Cofepris (Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios) along with municipal city council officials, confirmed the closure of Esencia (Roc) and Gitano Tulum.
Both establishments were shut after a Friday night inspection, when authorities found them to be in violation of the state’s current Covid-19 health protocols, one of which, was exceeding capacity.
Tulum mayor Víctor Mas Tah said “a strong hand will be dealt against those who do not comply with the sanitary provisions.”
