Two sent to hospital from scene of car bus crash outside Tulum

Tulum Q.R. — A brutal head-on collision outside the town of Tulum sent two to hospital. Ambulances rushed to the scene of the evening crash along the federal highway Wednesday.

National Guard and Tulum firemen met paramedics at the scene around 8:00 p.m. near the entrance to the Aldea Tulum subdivision where a tour bus and private car collided.

The driver of the compact car and his young passenger were injured after crashing head-on into a Cancún Discovery bus that was headed for the town of Tulum.

The bus was driving south on the federal highway when, according to the Municipal Traffic Police report, the male driver of the car crossed into the oncoming lane. The driver, who was found unconscious, and his daughter, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was partially closed while paramedics transferred the two injured to hospital and authorities dealt with the removal of the vehicles involved.
