Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Authorities are investigating the discovery of two bodies found near the Belize border. The bodies were reported early Friday morning in the vicinity of the community of Subteniente López.
According to early information, both bodies had been placed inside bags and left near a bridge that leads to Subteniente López. Both bodies are reported to be men.
National Guard confirmed the discovery of two bodies on the side of the road.
At the scene, authorities found a piece of cardboard with a handwritten message stuck with a knife. After the bodies were removed, police remained in the area.
Two days earlier, another body was found in the same area.
That body was also wrapped in a black bag and left near the same bridge heading toward the town. A handwritten message was found at the scene.
The community of Subteniente López is known for the bridge that connects Quintana Roo with Belize. The town is approximately seven kilometers from the state’s capital city of Chetumal.
