Tulum, Q.R. — Two men from Tabasco were arrested in the municipality of Tulum after they were found carrying a large sum of cash and a shotgun.
The arrest happened in the town of Francisco Uh-May near Tulum after police say the pair began acting nervous at the sight of police presence. Police were performing a routine patrol of the area when they happened upon the two men.
An inspection of their person revealed 55,000 peso in cash, a shotgun and cartridges. They were taken into police custody and held for the state attorney.
The subjects have been identified as Axel and José Enrique, both from Tabasco. An run of names thorugh Plataforma México revealed Axel was involved in an assault at a gas station.
