Two killed in Tulum identified as mother and daughter

Tulum, Q. R. — Two people shot and killed in Tulum Thursday have been identified as a mother and daughter. Thirty four year old Marari “N” and her 60 year old mother Felipa “N” were killed after being the targets of a gunman.

Area residents in the neighborhood of Nassim reported seeing a white car arrive shortly after 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Someone from inside the car began shooting at the two women before driving off. The women were walking on a dirt street when they were attacked.

Emergency 9-1-1 responded with police and paramedics who pronounced both women dead at the scene. Witnesses were able to provide details of the car but not the shooter. Arrests have not been announced. A motive for the attack is not known.
