Two armed subjects flee Tulum bar after opening fire, killing one

Tulum, Q.R. — Two armed people who entered a Tulum bar fled after killing one and leaving another with injuries. The shooting happened in a bar in the city’s center during the early morning hours of Monday.

Reports say gun fire was reported to Emergency 911 services who sent police to La Barrita Cantina Mexicana on Tulum Avenue. Upon their arrival, they found panicked patrons fleeing the bar, which helped facilitate the shooter’s escape. After their disbursement, one deceased person was found laying on the floor. The deceased male has been identified as Diego P.

The unidentified injured person, who received a bullet wound in the buttocks, was rushed to a Playa del Carmen hospital.

Quintana Roo Police cordoned off the area where six 9-millimeter shells were found. No arrests were made.
