Tulum woman found guilty of killing mother sentenced to 20 years

Tulum, Q.R. — A judge has handed down a 20 year sentence to Bianca Estela Cabrera Jiménez for aggravated homicide. The woman was sentenced Monday after being found responsible for the death of her mother.

Police began an investigation after Bianca Estela Cabrera Jiménez reported her mother missing in November of 2023.

During their investigation, police found the woman’s body stuffed inside a water cistern in the back yard of the property where she lived.

According to police, the woman had an argument with her mother at her home in Rancho Viejo on the outskirts of the town of Tulum.

During the altercation, she pushed her mother down the stairs, causing her to hit her head and lose consciousness. She then moved the body to a cistern in the backyard where she disposed of it in an attempt to conceal what happened.

“As a result of the corresponding investigations, the authorities were able to locate the victim and arrest the person responsible,” police said.

On Monday, Bianca Estela Cabrera Jiménez was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the aggravated homicide of her mother.
