Tulum, Q.R. — A Tulum taxi driver is still missing after leaving the town of Tulum for Playa del Carmen. The woman identified as Bertha “N” was reported missing Wednesday night while taking a passenger to Playa del Carmen.
Her car was found abandoned late on the night of May 14 around two hours after she reported leaving Tulum. Her cab was found with a flat rear tire. Passing motorists called 9-1-1 reporting a cab on the side of the road without a driver. When police arrived, they identified the taxi as the car belonging to the missing Tulum taxi driver.
According to preliminary reports, the woman left Tulum around 10:00 p.m. with a passenger. She notified relatives that she had a flat tire along the way. They became concerned when she failed to return home.

Her abandoned car was reported to 9-1-1 around midnight. It was found parked in a highway shoulder near a Riviera Maya gas station. A shoe belonging to the taxi driver was also found. Municipal Police are continuing their search for the missing female taxi driver.
