Tulum restaurant beach shooting leaves two dead, one injured

Tulum, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office reported the start of an investigation into a Tulum restaurant shooting that left two dead. The armed attack happened Saturday night at Art Beach at kilometer 7 of the Tulum-Bocapaila highway.

According to preliminary reports, armed subjects arrived at the beach shortly after 9:00 p.m. and opened fire on what appears to be a targeted attack. Two young men were killed and another left with injuries in the restaurant shooting.

The injured, an unidentified 24-year-old man, was transferred to hospital by ambulance where he is said to be in stable condition.

Elements of the National Guard and local police cordoned off the scene for investigative purposes.

On social media, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that it had started an investigation for the events and activated the search and tracking protocols to identify those responsible for the attack. No further details were provided.
