Tulum, Q.R. — Three palapas belonging to a Tulum bar reportedly burned early Friday morning. The fire was located at the Funky Burrito Pool Bar of the La Veleta neighborhood in Tulum.
A call to 911 around 1:35 a.m. alerted emergency bodies. Tulum firemen arrived and for an hour, doused flames but were not able to save the fast-burning grass rooftops. All three palapas were reduced to ash.
No injuries were reported. The pool bar suffered substantial material and structural damage. An official cause for the fire was not announced.
