Tulum police investigating possible suicide of Canadian man

Tulum, Q.R. — The death of a 46-year-old Canadian man in Tulum is being investigated as a possible suicide. Police in Tulum were requested Wednesday morning when the man’s partner reportedly found him suspended inside the home.

The incident happened shortly after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday inside a home in residential Riviera Tulum. An emergency call was received by the C4 in which a woman reported that her boyfriend was unconscious.

The woman, who has not been named, made the call reporting that the man was her partner, of Canadian origin, and was not responding.

Tulum police arrived at the Chicozapote Street address where they confirmed the report and requested medical assistance. Personnel from the SAVI-11 medical unit arrived to pronounce 46-year-old Bline “S” as deceased.

The cause of death was determined to be suicide by suspension according to statements made by his partner, who found him hanging when she arrived home. Police are investigating the case. An autopsy will be performed to determine an official cause of death.
