Tulum, Q.R. — The body of a man reported to be a local construction worker was found dead between buildings. The man is believed to have fallen from a third floor onto a mound of rubble where he died.
The incident was reported to authorities Friday morning on Violeta Street in the Yax Tulum neighborhood. According to initial reports, neighbors alerted 9-1-1 to an unconscious person laying near the street.
Paramedics arrived in response to the report confirming the man was deceased. When located, he was in rigor mortis, indicating that he had been dead at least two hours. The deceased has been identified as 35 year old Luis “E” from Tabasco.
Neighbors alleged the man had been drinking alcohol the previous night and likely fell. Municipal Police and Civil Protection personnel were also at the scene. The area where the body was found was not an active construction site.
