Tulum, Q.R. — Local authorities in Tulum are treating the death of a Colombian man as a suicide. The man’s body was found by his girlfriend inside their shared apartment Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency 9-1-1 received the report around 1:00 p.m. from a woman who identified herself as the man’s girlfriend. Responding police arrived at the La Selva Avenue apartment to find the man hanging from a rope.
Paramedics were called in, but arrived only to confirm his death. Both the woman and now-deceased man were residents of Tulum.
Forensic medical personnel removed the body. The investigation into the unnamed man’s death is being treated as a suicide.
