Tulum, Q.R. — A man of Canadian nationality was found dead inside a Tulum hotel early Thursday morning. The man, who has not been named, was found by hotel staff inside a room of the centrally located hotel.
Emergency services were notified of the finding in the La Veleta neighborhood. Police were at the scene on Asunción Street in response to the hotel’s report of a deceased guest.
Authorities have not commented on the death, however, there is local speculation that it could be drug related. Earlier this week, the town of Tulum hosted a two day music festival at Zamna Tulum, festivals known for their rampant drug use.
Police have not said if the man found inside the hotel was in town for the festival, nor have they provided any information on a possible cause of death.
