Tulum, Q.R. — One dead and two injured was the result of a gun attack Monday in a Tulum residential area. The attack was reported in the Aldea Tulum subdivision Monday morning around 10:30 a.m. when emergency services received the report.
Upon arrival, Municipal Police and paramedics located a dead man and two injured women who had all been shot. Two adult women, aged 21 and 31, were taken to Playa del Carmen hospital to be treated for bullet grazes.
Tulum police began an immediate search for those responsible. Preliminary reports say the gunmen had targeted the male driver of an orange Chevy car. He was shot and killed before they fled.
However, for reasons unknown, they returned and opened fire on another car, the car carrying the two women. All three involved in the shooting were Mexican nationals. Police continue their search for the men who opened fire.
