Tulum, Q.R. — A private vehicle was completely consumed by flames Thursday in Tulum. Firemen were requested around 8:00 p.m. at kilometer 1.5 of the Tulum-Boca Paila highway to extinguish the burning SUV.
The vehicle was being driven when its occupants noticed smoke coming from the engine. Moments later, the smoke turned to flames which quickly spread to the rest of the vehicle.
Both men from inside the vehicle were unharmed. Firemen extinguished the burning SUV, but not before flames completely devoured it. One lane was temporarily closed to traffic while firemen worked to put out the fire and a tow truck removed it.
