Tulum firemen rush to hotel generator fire

Tulum, Q.R. — Three trucks attended to the report of a fire in the coastal area of Tulum Tuesday night. Civil Protection were also part of the responding personnel to the 8:00 p.m. report.

The report was made for Kilometer 8 of the Tulum – Boca Paila highway in a small building in front of a hotel. When firefighters arrived, hotel employees were attempting to control the flames.

According to Benjamín Heredia Monforte, the Director of the Tulum Municipal Fire Department, the fire was due to an explosion of a hotel generator. Firemen were able to quickly control the fire and prevent it from spreading.

No injuries were reported. The shed where the power generator was located was the only thing that caught fire.
