Tulum, Q.R. — Tulum firemen were at the scene of a central park fire for more than an hour Wednesday. Area residents reported the mass blaze that was seen burning in the Croc park on Satélite Avenue.
Reports of a structure burning quickly turned to flames that spread to a neighboring home. Reports say a pile of cardboard could have been the initial source that quickly spread to wooden playground structures. The neighboring home was heavily damaged.
Tulum firemen were seen on top of an adjacent concrete wall attempting to gain height over the fire that started on the ground.
There were no injuries reported in the afternoon blaze, however, damage is expected to be extensive. The initial cause of the fire is still unknown.
