Tulum, Q.R. — The driver of a private car was killed instantly in an early morning crash outside Tulum. The highway accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday near the Aldea Tulum subdivision.
Rescue teams were sent to the fatal accident site along a section of the federal highway about eight kilometers from the town of Tulum. Once there, the male driver of a private car was found dead behind the wheel.
The accident happened when the driver of the private car collided head on with a bus at highway speeds. The compact car was found partially embedded under the front of the bus. The bus was used to transport local hotel staff to and from job sites.
Emergency services including police and firemen were at the scene since the jaws of life was required for the removal of the dead man’s body. The entire front end of the compact car was crushed inward, killing the driver. A cause for the deadly head on collision is not yet known.
