Tulum authorities confirm death by drowning of local man

Tulum, Q.R. — Civil Protection and police were called to Playa Pescadores Sunday afternoon in response to a floating body. Others at the beach made the report after seeing a man floating in the sea.

Rescuers pulled the body of a 35-year-old local man from the water and onto shore where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel. The man was drinking with friends on the Tulum National Park beach when he entered the water unnoticed.

It was around 5:00 p.m. when Tulum authorities were notified of the floating body. On site emergency responders confirmed that the now-deceased man was a local Tulum resident.
