Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A taxi driver with the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río was shot several times outside his home in the Ejidal neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.
The shooting occurred around 10:00 p.m. just as the taxi driver arrived home. His wife, who was inside the house, heard the shots. When she came out, she found her husband who had been hit three times.
The alleged shooter was a single male on a motorcycle. Police officers surrounded the area and launched a search of those responsible, but there were no reported arrests.
The taxi driver was hit in the chest, leg and abdomen. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
