Tulum, Q.R. — A taxi driver and two of his friends were arrested in Tulum after they hit a person and fled.

The hit-and-run occurred along the Tulum-Cobá highway near Gran Cenote Tuesday afternoon. The taxi driver, who is a member of the Tiburones del Caribe union, allegedly hit a person along the highway, but instead of stopping, fled the scene.

The driver of the taxi along with his two friends, continued on their journey toward Tulum, refusing to stop at the federal police filter, which initiated a police chase into the municipality.
