Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was shot to death in a targeted attack Thursday night in the far west community of In House. The unnamed man was reported outside his home when he was shot.
Neighbors reported the shooting to police after hearing gunfire. As many as 10 shots were reported heard by neighbors who ran out to see the man laying in the street.
Eye witnesses said the man was targeted by others who arrived armed.
There was a brief foot chase along the dirt road when the victim realized the men were armed. When he ran, his attackers opened fire.
Municipal police officers arrived to confirm the shooting. The area was cordoned off while they waited for paramedics.
Medical personnel confirmed the man dead at the scene. Police are investigating.
