Tulum, Q.R. — Hooded individuals are said responsible for a targeted shooting inside a Tulum hotel room Wednesday. The targeted attack took place inside a hotel on Chechén Avenue and 8 Sur Street where a guest was left seriously injured.

According to early information, the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. inside a third floor room when at least two men wearing hoods surprised the man inside. When he answered their knocks on his door, he was shot several times. The hooded gunmen fled before police arrived.
Responding officers arrived on Chechén Avenue to a seriously injured man reported to be of Cuban nationality. He was taken to a Tulum hospital with reports of four bullet wounds and has since been transferred to a hospital in Playa del Carmen. Authorities have not made a public comment on the shooting.
