Suspects in murder and dismemberment of Tulum man charged

Tulum, Q.R. — Two suspects in the murder of a Tulum man have formally been charged in his death. On Thursday, the State Attorney General (FGE) said Emir “N” and Víctor Manuel “N” have been charged with aggravated homicide.

The men are facing charges in the January 20 murder and dismemberment of an Aldea Tulum resident whose body was found in bags.

“According to the facts, on January 20 of this year, the accused Emir “N”, along with Eduardo “N”, alias “El Chaparro” and/or “Comandante”, and José Emmanuel “N”, alias “La Loba”, took the victim out of an apartment located in Aldea Tulum and drove him aboard a vehicle to an invasion zone.

“There the first person mentioned shot him with a firearm, taking his life and then, together, they dismembered the body which they finally abandoned in bags near the Rotario Park of this municipality,” the FGE reported in a statement.

“In the case of aggravated homicide, the investigations carried out by this autonomous body established that the crime was due to the fact that the victim was allegedly a member of a group opposed to those now implicated,” they added.

According to the police statement, Víctor Manuel “N,” who is being held at the Playa del Carmen Municipal Detention Center, has already been charged with drug dealing offenses.
