Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Police arrested a man from the scene of a fatal shooting in the town of San Pedro Peralta in response to a 9-1-1 distress call. The SSC (Secretary of Citizen Security) said Friday that José Francisco “N”, allegedly involved in a homicide, was arrested.

Responding to a distress call made to the 911 emergency line, personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security’s “Centurión Group”, working in coordination with the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and the Othón P. Blanco Municipal Police, deployed to the town of San Pedro Peralta.
Upon arrival, an individual reported that a male subject had shot another man in the chest. That man was found by police lying on the ground. According to authorities, the shooter subsequently fled the scene.
Paramedics from the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squadron confirmed that the victim showed no signs of life.
Police said in a statement that an operation was launched to locate the alleged perpetrator, who was carrying a shotgun. “Upon noticing police, the suspect entered a dead-end dirt road where he eventually complied with the officers’ orders,” the SSC said.
At the scene, the informant directly identified the male subject as the person who had shot the man who lost his life.
“Based on this direct identification, José Francisco “N” was taken into custody,” the SSC (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana) reported.
