Tulum, Q.R. — A woman and her young daughter were treated for minor injuries after rolling their SUV Monday. The woman driving the vehicle swerved to avoid a stray dog that ran across the road when she overturned.
The accident happened on a section of Tulum-Cobá highway approximately 11 kilometers northwest of the town of Tulum.
Emergency services were sent to the scene of the accident near Atik Tulum where they found the overturned SUV.

In avoiding the stray dog, the driver swerved, causing her Jeep to overturn. Her vehicle came to a rest in highway side vegetation on its roof.
Other motorists stopped to help while calling 9-1-1. Both the female driver and her young daughter were able to get out of their vehicle on their own.
They were assessed at the scene by paramedics and treated for minor bumps and bruises. Neither were transferred to hospital.
