State seizes two Tulum Parque del Jaguar hotels in early morning operation

Tulum, Q.R. — Two hotels in the town of Tulum have been seized by the state of Quintana Roo. Both properties are located within the Jaguar Park in Tulum and were part of an operation Friday.

The two hotels were seized Friday in an early morning operation June 26, 2026.

On-duty security guards were asked to vacate their posts while state officials moved in to take over the properties. The operation was carried out Friday morning by personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

The properties belong to the Las Palmas and Cinco Tulum hotels. State officials placed No Passing seals across the gates of both properties before they left Friday.

Residents who watched the operation said authorities from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Kidnapping and Extortion arrived around 5:30 a.m.

The agents asked the security guards to vacate both establishments and then placed official seals on the main entrances without explaining the reason for the operation.

State officials have not commented on FGE seizure of the two Tulum hotels.
