SSC reports Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel members arrested in Tulum

Tulum, Q.R. — Two members of the Jalisco Cartel were arrested from a Tulum street Tuesday. The pair were taken into custody on drug and firearm charges after they were found in possession of narcotics and loaded handguns.

The Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) have identified the two men as Bryan Augusto “N” and Daniel Adelfain “N”. Both were arrested from on Avenida Ágata and Calle Rubí 09 in Tulum Tuesday.

In a statement, the SSC (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana) reported “Bryan Augusto “N” and Daniel Adelfain “N” were arrested, allegedly involved in drug crimes and firearm possession.

“The detainees are believed to be members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel. Members of the Centurión Group, in coordination with members of the State Rural Police of the Secretariat of Citizen Security, were on prevention and surveillance patrols when they observed two men exchanging transparent bags containing dried green vegetables that looked similar to marijuana.

“The incident occurred on Avenida Ágata and Calle Rubí 09 in Tulum. Due to the swift intervention of officers, their vehicle was blocked and the corresponding inspection was carried out.

“The following were seized: two backpacks, 30 clear plastic bags of various sizes containing dried green marijuana-like materials, a notebook, a scale, two handguns, two magazines and 17 gold-colored 9mm cartridges.

“The evidence, as well as the detainees, were handed over to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Dealing Crimes.”
