Tulum, Q.R. — A single-vehicle accident outside the town of Tulum left the driver dead after he was crushed by his own car. Police were at the scene of the 4:00 a.m. accident along a section of federal highway where they located an overturned Fiesta.
Laying on the ground under the hood of the car was the driver, 38-year-old Zefernio “P”. Motorists along the Tulum-Playa del Carmen section of highway reported the accident early Sunday morning.
Motorists requested an ambulance for an injured person in an automobile accident, however, paramedics pronounced the man on scene. He sustained fatal injuries after being ejected through the windshield and landing under the front end of his car as it flipped.
Police did not provide an official cause for the fatal accident.
