Six youths arrested in Tulum gunfire attack against pedestrian

Tulum, Q.R. — Six people have been arrested for their alleged participation in the shooting attack of a man in front of the Tulum Municipal Palace Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon, a pedestrian was shot outside the Municipal Palace while walking through city streets. The shooters fled. The man, who was shot twice, was rushed to hospital where he reportedly died hours later.

Police were quick to begin a search for those responsible, arresting a total of six youths. The four males and two females were taken into police custody from an invaded zone known as 2 de octubre. They were detained after a police chase and gunfire exchange.

Upon their eventual arrest, the youths were found in possession of a gun and ammo, which were seized along with the white minivan in which they were traveling. Police also seized a red motorcycle and white car from the scene.
