Tulum, Q.R. — Tulum authorities collected an undisclosed number of shell casings from the street outside a restaurant Sunday morning. Nearby residents who heard the 6:00 a.m. gunfire alerted emergency services.
Police found a restaurant on Mercurio Oriente Street had been shot at. According to preliminary information, two men on a motorcycle stopped long enough to fire warning shots toward the façade of the restaurant before speeding off.
Elements of the Tulum Municipal Police arrived at the scene where they confirmed no human injuries. They also confirmed the finding of shell casings. Agents from the Ministerial Police of the State Attorney General’s Office also arrived to investigate the early morning report of shots fired.
