Routine tour in Tulum leads to 3 arrests

Tulum, Q.R. — During a routine surveillance tour in a residential area of Tulum, police saw a man standing outside a vehicle carrying a weapon.

Police reported seeing the man at 6:35 a.m. in the community of Lakin where they reported him standing outside a vehicle holding a gun. When the man saw police, he proceeded to get inside the vehicle and flee, while two others got out of the car and began to flee on foot, however, they were intercepted and stopped several streets away.

A review of the vehicle led police to the discovery of bags of drugs including cocaine and pills as well as more than 200 round of ammunition, two communication radios and a scale.

Taken into custody were Alexandro Arturo N, Víctor Alonso N and Noemí N for drug related charges as well as carrying a gun and ammo reserved exclusively for the Mexican army and air force.
