Roaring early morning fire destroys Tulum building

Tulum, Q.R. — A roaring fire consumed a building in the Nassim area of Tulum Wednesday morning. Strong winds played a large role in fanning the flames that eventually ate away at the structure.

Tulum firemen rushed to the 2:00 a.m. scene on the Orión extension where they worked to put out the fire. The building that burned was identified as being a hut made of wood and palapa grass.

No one was inside at the time of the fire. The cause remains unknown.
