Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Residents of the community of Laguna Guerrero reported a floating body Thursday. Visitors to the lagoon saw the body from the shore early Thursday morning.
Emergency 9-1-1 who received the call, responded by sending municipal officers to verify the report. At the site, they located the body of an adult male that was pronounced deceased by emergency services personnel.
Laguna Guerrero is a large elongated body of water north of the state’s capital city of Chetumal in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco. It is popular for swimming. The body of the man pulled from the lagoon Thursday is believed to have died by drowning.
Forensics were at the scene to remove the body for an official autopsy. The identify of the man is not known.
