Quintana Roo authorities work with ICE to track down wanted fugitive found living in Texas

Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — A suspect wanted in Quintana Roo since 2016 has been deported from Texas. The man identified as Roger Armando “N” has been a wanted fugitive by the state for nearly 10 years for privacy and extortion crimes.

The Quintana Roo State Attorney General (FGE) worked in collaboration with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Interpol Mexico to serve the arrest warrant in Conroe, Texas.

According to local authorities, they “served an arrest warrant for Roger Armando “N” for his alleged involvement in acts possibly constituting the crimes of violation of personal or family privacy and extortion.

“The events for which Roger Armando “N” has an open investigation file occurred in the municipality Othón P. Blanco following a complaint from the affected party, on June 13, 2016, for the aforementioned crimes, for which on August 9, 2021, he was charged with the precautionary measure of periodic signatures.

“The oral trial was scheduled for November 16-22, 2023, but the defendant did not appear, so on November 21, the authority requested a hearing to withdraw from the action of justice, hence on the 23rd of the same month, the judge reissued an arrest warrant against Roger Armando “N”.

“On June 5, 2024, a request for a migration alert was issued to the National Migration Institute for the purpose of conducting a thorough search of its database to inform the Quintana Roo FGE whether the individual entered or left Mexican territory.

“A month later, the International Affairs Coordination of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo issued a red notice for Roger Armando “N”.

“After conducting investigative work, the defendant was located in the state of Texas, which prompted active and close coordination with Interpol,” they reported.

Roger Armando “N” was detained in Conroe, Texas by the Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), for controlled deportation to Mexican territory. He was handed over to the the FGE of Tamaulipas in the border municipality of Nuevo Laredo where Investigative Police from the FGE Quintana Roo met him for his transfer by air back to Quintana Roo.
