Tulum, Q.R. — The Director of Public Works for Tulum, Jorge Luis Xiu Manzanero, submitted his request for separation of the position in order to address legal matters after he was accused of sexual harassment.
The submission of his title was accepted by Tulum mayor Víctor Mas Tah. An internal investigation is also being conducted into the allegations.
In the meantime, Mas Tah has appointed Mr. Alejandro Montes de Oca in place of Xiu Manzanero.
The complaint of sexual harassment and / or sexual exploitation was filed against Jorge Luis Xiu Manzanero earlier this month with the victim claiming threats and the loss of her job. Xiu Manzanero submitted his separation request Tuesday.
