Tulum, Q.R. — The suspect in the murder of a Tulum woman has been arrested. Police made the arrest Sunday after being granted a warrant. The arrest warrant for Elías Abimael “N” was executed by personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office of Tulum.
Elías Abimael “N” was taken into custody for the February 3, 2025 shooting death of a woman he was in a bar with earlier that night.
According to police, he was at the bar with a woman at which time, he was involved in an altercation with another woman. Later that night, the woman he was with at the bar left without him and walked the street to hail a taxi.
As the taxi passed the front of the bar, it stopped and allowed Elías Abimael “N” and the woman he had the altercation with to board. Hours later, the now-victim’s dead body was located on a dirt road with two bullet wounds.
“The victim left the bar and walked a short distance to board a taxi, which, upon passing in front of the bar, stopped to let the woman involved in the altercation and Elías Abimael “N” in.
“Hours later, the lifeless body of the victim appeared on a dirt road with two gunshot wounds to the head,” police reported.

Elías Abimael “N” was transferred by elements of the Investigative Police to the Municipal Detention Center of Playa del Carmen where he remains.
